Leslie Aitcheson

2017

Leslie was Treasurer of MBS for 4 years and then President from 2006 to 2010.

In June 2006. Leslie was pictured and quoted  in the newspaper, with the following comments.
“Leslie Aitcheson of Burketon, a society member, who had a number of trees on display at a recent bonsai exhibition  at Parkwood Oshawa, pointed to her foot and half tall ”Bird’s Nest Spruce” and said:

“I bought this about 20 years ago “ Ms. Aitcheson said. “ It was in a regular nursery pot , just a little tad and I left it in the nursery pot for a few years until it was really crawling out. Then I repotted it, using the special bonsai soil and pots we use and I have always been very happy with it and how it’s turned out. It’s where I want it to be.”

Leslie passed away in 2017 and is remembered for her enthusiasm, her friendship, designing/making our MBS aprons , organizing our T shirts with our logo, her ability to influence MBS with smiles and well loved bonsai. After she passed in 2017,  her pots, stands and trees were donated to the the Club  and are still much appreciated.
